Vapor's Gambit FAQ

When I run over a prone racer and the prone racer dives into a wall, what happens? Can he hit the wall and take damage?
Yes. If you run over a prone racer who is adjacent to a wall and he rolls to dive out of the way in the direction of the wall, the following occurs: the prone racers hits the wall, taking a point of damage, and is placed one spot forward. This means that you have the opportunity to run over that racer again (though you must make a balance check each time you do so).

What happens when someone is forced to move in a straight line in the curve due to a ramp? How do you determine what is "straight" at that point?
Ramps are a sticky issue. To figure the straight line of a ramp leading into a curve, project the straight portion of the lane the racer was in straight forward -- unfortunately due to the nature of the curved track segmets, there can be some interpretation regarding exactly at which points the racer enters a outer lane; you can in fact count several steps or few steps because of the lane staggering. As a general guideline you want to follow the simplest path possible. In the vast majority of situations, the logical progression is pretty obvious and everyone will agree on the simplest path, but if there is a conflict then the owner of the racer may choose the course.

If you hit a prone racer in a curve, but were going straight due to the ramp, what direction does the prone racer move? What if you hit a standing racer?
If you are going straight due to a ramp, you would only hit a prone racer if he was in the spot on which you landed -- since a ramp sends you airborne and you avoid any obstacles. If you hit the prone racers the rules are no different than any other time -- the prone racers randomly moves either left or right, following all the normal rules listed under the Movement section. More complicated is if you hit a standing racer -- in which case the standing racer moves forward to the next logical progression in the lane -- not into the wall. Of course the racer that just landed will have to make a balance check both for landing, and for striking another racer.

The rules state that a player may only play one chit per turn. Does this mean a FULL turn wherein ALL players have had the opportunity to move their figure?
Correct. A turn is defined as the period of time beginning when the first placed player begins their movement, and ending when the last placed player completes their movement.

Can chits be placed underneath an opponent before he has moved a space?
Yes, as stated in the rules chits may be placed on any space, though there may only be one obstacle per space.
